Sick of cancer

Gen. 12:1-2: “The LORD had said to Abram, ‘Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you.’ I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.”

I think of this scripture often. It says a number of things to me. #1. Leave everything you are used to, including your comfort zone and support system for an uncertain destination. #2. God says He will “show” Abram the land, meaning Abram had never seen it, or, if he had seen it, he’d missed it before. #3. Abram’s name will be great, he will be blessed, and he will be a great nation, AND he will also be a blessing.

To be a blessing to others means Abram was going to receive things he was not meant to keep. Holding onto things is easy, especially if you’ve never had them before, did nothing to earn them, and have trust issues with the person who gave them to you. Aye, there’s the rub.

Great Nation Publishing will be partnering with the Newton County Relay for Life Team out of Newton High School this fall. Every time you purchase merchandise from, a portion of those proceeds will go directly to the team. You will also be able to make nominal donations to the team as well. Both will be documented and a receipt will be sent to you for tax purposes.

I’m sick of cancer and believe it’s time everybody else should be too.
